Lunds visit Spokane

Audrey's mom, dad, and Sam came to visit for the weekend. They only stayed two nights, so we had to give them the whirlwind tour of Spokane. Here we are at Manito Park

We tried out the carousel again. This time Ethan didn't like it as much. We ended up just sitting on a stationary bench, but he still screamed the whole time. I hope I haven't traumatized him.

My Dad was much more excited for the ride :)

Ethan's favorite indoor game...

He almost jumped out of his skin when I took this picture. He knows he's not supposed to be up there, but he just can't resist pushing buttons.

Steal the Stroller-- Ethan's favorite outdoor game!

Lately Ethan has been gravitating towards strollers-- any kind, anywhere. He loves to push and ram them into people's legs. Although he rarely rides in the stroller willingly, I have to bring it everywhere, because if I don't, he'll just grab someone else's.

If he was only strong enough to push me in it, we'd have a good thing going.

Pig-Out in the Park

Every year Spokane has Pig-Out in the Park. This sounded just up our alley, so we swung by there on Saturday. Every food vendor in town set up a tent. It was very hard to decide what to eat. We ended up getting some Jambalaya (well I only had a bite before eric dropped it on the ground) and a shredded pork burger. And, yes that is a funnel cake. We couldn't resist. Neither of us had ever had one, and it was worth every deep-fried calorie.

Idaho

This weekend we went for a little drive to Sandpoint Idaho. It's a little over an hour away. It takes us so long to gather everything to take on a day trip like this, we always forget something. This time it was a drink for Ethan, and oh yeah...the gas. I don't know how Eric didn't notice, but we were on empty when we left. We had just passed Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, just passed civilization, just passed all the gas stations, when Eric noticed the gas light was on. "how long has that been on?" he asks, like I would have noticed and just decided not to tell him. We know our car can go at least forty minutes with the gas light on (we learned that in the middle of nowhere Nebraska.) but it could have been on when we started the car for all we knew. There was nothing as far as we could see, and of course Ethan was screaming. He loves to add tension to situations like this. He can sense when we are scared or upset and he tries to one-up us. We just kept on going, and going, and going, and this would be a much more interesting story if we ran out of gas, but luckily we finally saw this:
The best sight in the world: One takes these little signs for granted, but sometimes you just want to kiss them.

We finally made it to Sandpoint. We walked around the shops and found the lake. This is Lake Pend. We felt weird being at a beach in the middle of Idaho, but the water was pleasant, and Ethan loved the little park.

Later we ate lunch at a cute little diner, and I let Ethan have his first fried food. I'm such a bad mom, but they were sweet potato fries, those are good for you right? Anyway, he loved them and he stayed quiet the whole time while Eric and I enjoyed our lunch. Don't worry, I fed him my tomato too.

Ethan's Birthday Presents

We finally got around to opening all of Ethan's birthday presents. He loved them all. It was hard to get him to open the next gift because he didn't want to stop playing with the previous one. Eric insisted on carrying on the Lund tradition of hiding the presents. Ethan didn't seem to notice.
Where are the English instructions?? This is so complicated!
