Here we are in Jacksonville. We finally got our Internet set up. Yea!! It took a lot longer than necessary, but we're back online. We were really lost without Google for a week. Especially while trying to set up our lives in a new city. We each had a quite a long list of things we wanted to look up as soon as we got it turned on. Last night we were fighting each other for the computer chair. I won because my things involved paying bills and managing bank accounts (and checking blogs of course).
We are getting settled in here. We love our house. Ethan is especially fond of our shower. I've found him sitting in it a couple times now. He seems to like it here. He has trouble finding me sometimes. It was easier in our tiny Spokane apt. There are more places to hide here.
Eric had orientation this week, but has had time in the afternoons and evenings to play with us. We have been to the beach every evening and we have been to the zoo twice already thanks to our zoo pass. The zoo is right down the street.

The beach is further, more like 25 min, but they are lovely beaches. Warm water and beautiful clean white sand. We have only been in the evenings so far, but each time we've gone, we've had the whole thing to ourselves.
Ethan loves playing in the sand and helping Eric catch crabs.
Yesterday we took turns watching Ethan while the other went on a run down the beach. Eric thought it was great, I (who hates to run) didn't have as much fun, but it did feel a bit like Chariots of Fire.

Ethan has so much hair I hardly recognize him. The beach looks gorgeous! We'll have to visit sometime :) We're still trying to find out how to access a beach and where to park - it's very elusive. Lincoln Park zoo is free, but parking is $14 :) if only we could transport there like in Star Trek. Right now a free visit to Petsmart keeps Sonja very entertained and hyper.
I am so jealous of your beaches as compared to our flat, stormy area of the country.
We actually did not have any tornados here when we were in med school-we had a few times the sirens went off, but nothing ever happened. This year has been nuts here though. Luckily we were still in Spokane for the worst of it (so far anyway). Our stake President's next door neighbor actually had his house pretty much ruined in the tornado a few weeks ago-nuts! That neighborhood is close to ours...
Hope you are loving being back in Florida! We miss you guys and hope you are doing well!
Um...so why didn't stay in Washington, huh? Just kidding! I miss you so much--your little Ethan is gorgeous and so are you! You look so good. I wish Ethan and Gavin could play together and we could take walks and talk all the time...sigh. Anyway, thanks for the link to your blog, I'll check it all the time-I love feeling connected :-) Also, lucky duck that you got to go to Paris!!! Your pictures are beautiful!
Love ya, Maria
Audrey-
Wow, what a hard life in Florida you guys have. I am jealous you got to take Ethan to the Zoo. I really wish Spokane had a zoo. How do you like being in a house? What is your favorite thing about your new place? Can I just tell you we miss you guys so much! It makes me sad to think we won't be in the same city for at least 4 more years. Thanks for being such awesome friends we have to keep in touch. I want to see pics of your place too. love-carly
